Pictures from a beautiful spring day paddle to and around Brown’s Island in coastal Carteret county, North Carolina.
We witnessed two bald eagles and a nest. One of the bald eagles stayed in the nest as the other bald eagle hunted for fish… An absolute treat to watch.
In the grass flats around the island, large red drum cruised along and darted away at the splash of our paddles.
Other inhabitants of the island include some introduced horses that curiously ate pickleweed around out beached canoe while we were hiking down the beach.
