Located at milepost 271.9 along the Blue Ridge Parkway, the park offers a parking lot with vault toilets and a clearly marked trail head that leads to The Cascades.

The waterfall flows from Falls Creek, which eventually flows to the Yadkin River basin and in to the W. Kerr Scott Resovoir.
