“Heaven is below our feet as well as above our heads.”
I can’t think of a better person to quote to start this off than Henry David Thoreau. Ever since I can remember I have been obsessed with the natural world (as well as Thoreau). From my childhood stomping through creeks and building forts in the woods to my adulthood (use that term lightly) persuing any and every experience with nature I can, I simply love being outdoors.
Many a better person before me has documented their experiences with nature. My attempts to do so may be feeble at best but if you decide to humor me or indulge my ramblings, I thank you.
I am lucky to have a wonderful family and set of friends that is (almost) as wild about the wild as I am. I am thankful every time I share adventures with them.
I hope this journal will be a good mix of future adventures as well as sharing of adventures past. It’s a big wild world out there.
